My spouse, a very shy disgruntled non-smoker (as in, disgruntled to be a non-smoker) actually asked him a question during the Q and A part when he was on stage. So, we asked Tony to sign “next time, try the haggis.” One of them had recently posted about regretting not eating something, like haggis. Since my spouse and I both went, we had him sign a book to some friends who live far away. We had a package that included a copy of the book, a catered reception, the focus of which was the chance for a meet and greet to have our books signed. We were in the second row when he appeared on a book tour near Atlanta, GA. PS - on topic, I still have 3 episodes of Tony on the DVR. Not much of a problem, as I have no band to name :-) My band name was going to be “Phineas Gage.” A lot of folks had that idea, it seems. They performed a charity gig over Thanksgiving in 2016 - first time they’d done so in 15 years. Billy Pilgrim hasn’t released any new music as Billy Pilgrim since then. He is in the country duo, Sugarland, which grew popular around 2002. Since 2001, one of the two guys in Billy Pilgrim has become more successful in a different band. I definitely should read Vonnegut, especially “Slaughterhouse 5,” if no other reason than possibly curing me of confusing it with “The Jungle.” A long-time friend is a Vonnegut fan, and Vonnegut was the guest speaker at the friend’s college graduation in 1996. “God Bless Captain Vere!” Aye, poor Billy Budd. Our AP English class read.well,a lot of other things that all seemed to have a Christ-figure.
A few decades, some of my high school friends with a different teacher read that one. This is a work in progress so I will give updates when I have them to give, I’ve noted everything so far and I’m starting to round things up just so I have them before I put together something to actually display them.Īh ha.
